Good Samaritan is proud to announce that we have been awarded a $5,000 grant from REC Power of Change to support our Weekend Backpack Program. This generous investment will help us continue providing critical food assistance to individuals and families in our community who are facing food insecurity.
REC Power of Change awards grants to eligible nonprofits twice each year, supporting organizations that are creating meaningful and lasting impacts in the communities they serve. We are honored to be selected as a recipient and deeply grateful for their partnership and commitment to helping those in need.
Our Weekend Backpack Program currently serves approximately 35 individuals each week, and the need continues to grow. Each backpack is carefully packed with enough food to provide 3 meals a day over the weekend, helping ensure that no one goes hungry when school cafeterias and other meal resources may not be available.
At Good Samaritan, we believe that access to nutritious food is essential for building stronger families and healthier communities. This grant will allow us to continue meeting the increasing demand while expanding our ability to serve those who rely on this program each week.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to REC Power of Change for investing in our mission and making a difference in the lives of so many people in our community.
As our programs continue to grow, Good Samaritan is always looking for grant opportunities, community partners, and corporate sponsors who want to help create lasting change.
Together, we can continue providing hope, nourishment, and support to those who need it most.
